DON'T MAKE THESE MISTAKES AT YOUR WEDDING in Italy
1. DATE
You fell in love with the location, booked and paid a first deposit, and then found out that on this day there are official holidays in Italy and no legal ceremonies are held.
SOLUTION
If you are planning to legally get married in Italy, find out about official holidays, time to prepare all the necessary documents, and the needed appointments at the town hall.
2. LOCATION
→ Many locations, especially on lakes, have restrictions on the time of a party, for example, loud music on the some villas is allowed until 20.30, dancing inside the villa until 23.00 - it is important to check in advance, especially if you plan to dance until the morning.
→ Some locations/villas do not have a plan B in case of rain or bad weather, offering to rent a marquee, which will undoubtedly increase your budget.
→ Another unexpected surprise may be the size of the dinner hall, your guests will sit elbow to elbow and there will be no room for a dance floor, or even worse, the location will have 2-3 small halls and guests will sit separately.
SOLUTION
Determine your priorities, what is important to you, distance from the airport, accommodation of guests in one location, capacity of the halls, time of the party, etc. We will suggest the best solutions for you.
3. TIMING FOR GUESTS
Expecting that all guests remember all the details and schedule of the wedding day is a pipe dream) Most guests know that they can always clarify, ask, and therefore do not bother to remember all the information. Don't believe me? You will find out as soon as you start planning your wedding)
SOLUTION
Make a one-page website with all the information or a WhatsApp/Telegram group, it will help save a lot of time) Delegate communication with guests to your best friend or add your planner to the group, he will coordinate, answer all questions, and you will have a lot of time for yourself!
4. TRANSFERS
When planning a wedding, we always think through the logistics, for the newlyweds, for the guests, for the team, for the suppliers. Please note that some villas are only accessible by boat on the lake and some are not accessible by bus/only by minivan or car. It is important to think through not only how everyone will arrive for the ceremony/dinner, but also how everyone will be transported to their hotels at the end of the evening.
For example, it is almost impossible to call a taxi in lake Como after 22.00 unless you order a taxi in advance. There are also many places where having a car is practically necessary.
SOLUTION
Rent a car and arrange transfers in advance.
5. WEDDING MENU
Find out in advance whether any of the guests are vegetarians, vegans, or possibly allergic to certain foods, so that some of the guests do not remain hungry at dinner. You can also make a poll on Telegram whether guests prefer a meat or fish menu. Don't forget that any menu can be changed individually to suit your wishes.
SOLUTION
If you have the opportunity to come to a menu tasting, be sure to do so! All locations offer tasting menus and wines for a wedding dinner. If not, let us advise and offer you menu choices.
6. SEATING PLAN
When planning a wedding dinner, the question arises which tables to use and how to seat the guests. Some guests may be meeting each other for the first time, or guests may speak different languages, as is often the case at our international weddings. How to seat guests so that everyone feels comfortable?
SOLUTION
If you are planning a small wedding, one long table for the wedding dinner will be the best solution. The newlyweds sit in the middle, so all guests can see everyone and communicate with each other.
If you have a lot of guests and/or some guests are unfamiliar with each other, the best option is to choose round tables of 8-10 people, this will allow guests to easily communicate and see the newlyweds.
